"A vampire in love with a Slayer. It's kind of poetic...in a maudlin sort of way."
After Buffy's first Watcher, Merrick, died, Rupert Giles is called by the Watchers Council to train her when she moves to Sunnydale. This Watcher is part of a family tradition as his father and grandmother were both Watchers. Though he would have preferred to have been a grocer or a pilot, he embraces Buffy and becomes her friend, mentor, and father.
Best known for his coffee commercials, Anthony Stewart Head is a professional actor. He hails from England and has done many acting works there. Unlike his character, Anthony does not wear glasses. He has lent his singing voice in many of the Buffy episodes; the most recent being "Once More, With Feeling" from season six's musical episode. Spike's British accent is actually Tony Head's real accent.
As a tragic truth, a Slayer is doomed to be alone. The world does not know that she exists. She is faceless--meant to blend in. Everyday she puts her life in danger so that the people of the world may live another day. She lives alone and therefore dies alone.
But Buffy Summers lives a different life--one surrounded by friends and family.
Her circle is not by any means big, but in it are reliable friends who have proven themselves time and time again.
Take the time to get to know them as she did...
